One of the tank innovations of last year was an improved version of the North Korean "Armata" - the main battle tank "Cheonma-2", also known by the designation M2020.
The updated model was demonstrated at the exhibition "Development of National Defense - 2024" held in November in the capital of the DPRK, Pyongyang. The event was attended by the leader of the state, Kim Jong-un.
Judging by the photographic materials provided by the KCNA agency, the designers significantly strengthened the protection of the tower, on which they installed an active protection system.

The location of the rotary launchers, as well as radar antennas and special integrated sensors, indicates the available capabilities to destroy enemy kamikaze drones and anti-tank guided missiles flying up to the tank.
Earlier, footage of KAZ tests conducted at the test site appeared on the Network. Currently, only a few countries have their own similar systems, North Korea is one of them.

The tank has elements of an optoelectronic suppression system that detects the operation of laser rangefinders and exposes an aerosol curtain.
Earlier it was reported that a new armored vehicle manufacturing plant has been built in the DPRK, which is expected to produce the improved Cheonma-2.
