"Tank Hunter": Turkey showed the destruction of a simulated target with an L-UMTAS missile from Anka UAV

The Turkish Anka drone, positioned by the developer – TUSAS concern – as a "tank hunter", fired an L-UMTAS guided missile, designed mainly to destroy armored vehicles. The destruction of the conditional target was shown in the corresponding frames.

Replenishing the arsenal of this UAV with a new weapon significantly expands its strike capabilities.

L-UMTAS ("laser-guided long-range anti-tank missile system") is one of the latest products of the Turkish defense industry. It is designed to destroy stationary and mobile objects, in particular armored vehicles, bunkers and personnel. The ATGM is equipped with a semi-active laser guidance system that provides targeting both before and after launch, and can operate at any time of the day.

The range of the 160-mm rocket weighing 37.5 kg is up to 8 km, and the length is 1.8 m. It is equipped with a tandem warhead with high-explosive fragmentation and armor-piercing warheads, and, according to the manufacturer, is insensitive to small arms fire.

ATGM carriers can include UAVs, attack helicopters, light attack aircraft, ground vehicles, and offshore platforms.
