Dory Explorer
In 2019, the Chinese company Chasing Innovation introduced the world's cheapest (at that time) underwater drone Dory. Its development was the treasure hunter Dory Explorer, which received an attached grid and metal detector.
The Dory Explorer weighs 1.1 kg, dives to a depth of 15 m and is connected to a Wi-Fi buoy by an electric cable that follows it along the surface. The drone is equipped with an HD camera and is controlled in real time using an iOS/Android app at a range of up to 15 meters. The captured image with a resolution of 1080/30 cad/sec is stored in the built-in memory of the 16 GB buoy. The drone is equipped with five engines (3 vertical and 2 horizontal) with automatic depth detection.

The maximum speed of the drone is 2.7 km/h. A three-hour charge lasts from 35 minutes. until four o'clock. At high speed and with the lights on (250 lm), this time is reduced to a few minutes. The company granted the request of the underwater treasure hunters by adding a metal detector and a net to the kit. The drone will signal the detection of a metal object by flashing a red light. For more convenient operation, the remote control with a joystick is also included in the kit. The price of the standard Dory Explorer set is $480, and with an additional remote control it is already $600.
