The Russian Ministry of Defense recently showed footage of the combat operation of the latest 152-mm self-propelled gun 2C43 "Malva". The demonstrated sample has undergone a special adaptation designed to increase the protection of the machine from threats from drones. The observed equipment was equipped with electronic warfare equipment, equipped with a lattice frame and covered with a camouflage net.
- it is indicated in the Western press.
The ACS is mounted on the BAZ-6610-02 "Voschina" 8x8 chassis, which is manufactured by the Bryansk Automobile Plant. The use of a wheeled platform provides increased mobility and reduces operating costs compared to traditional tracked artillery systems for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The wheel configuration allows the Malva to reach higher speeds on the road, save fuel and simplify maintenance.

The state tests of the Malva were completed on May 17, 2023, confirming its compliance with the TTZ. The first batch of self-propelled guns was delivered to the Russian Armed Forces on October 26, 2023. The exact number of vehicles currently in service remains unknown. Russia plans to produce about 400 units of Malva.
In the new artillery system, instead of the old 2A64 gun, a new one is used, probably created on the basis of the 2A36 Hyacinth-B. It provides a maximum range of 50 km when using newly developed long-range projectiles. It is possible to use high-precision Krasnopol-M ammunition.
- it is noted in the Western press.
At the same time, Western analogues, unlike Malva, do not have comprehensive protection against UAVs.
