Vadim Badekha, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation, has become the new chairman of the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade for the Aviation Industry.

At a joint meeting of the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade for the Aviation Industry and the Aviation Industry Committee of the Russian Engineering Union, preliminary results of activities for 2024 were reviewed and plans for the future were outlined.

Vadim Badekha, a member of the Soyuzmash Bureau of Russia and General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation, was introduced at the meeting as the new Chairman of the Expert Council.

In his speech, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union Vladimir Gutenev noted the successes of Yuri Slyusar as head of the Expert Council and expressed hope for the productive work of the EC under the leadership of Vadim Badekhi.

"As a result of the work, many interesting initiatives have emerged, most of which have already been implemented in practice. I am sure that the experts will remain highly active in their work in the future. This is very important because the Russian aviation industry is of strategic importance for the country's economic and international security," said Vladimir Gutenev, First Vice President of SOYUZMASH.

Vadim Badekha thanked the members of the Expert Council and the deputies of the State Duma for their attention to the development of the aircraft industry.

"In 2024, a significant amount of government support was allocated to the industry. This is an additional responsibility for us. A lot is being done, and more needs to be done. It is important that all government and public institutions involved understand where we are going. The Expert Council performs an important task by informing all stakeholders about the state of affairs in the industry. We look forward to working closely and constructively in the future," said Vadim Badekha, CEO of UAC.

Yuri Slyusar transferred the cases of the head of the Expert Council to Vadim Badekha via videoconference. He also thanked Vladimir Gutenev and the deputies of the State Duma for a thorough study of the aircraft industry and wished fruitful work in the future. Yuri Slyusar said that the format of the expert council itself has proved its effectiveness over the years. Many initiatives aimed at developing the aircraft industry have reached the level of the federal agenda and have been supported by deputies. This concerns personnel issues, the development of unmanned vehicles and other relevant industry issues.

In turn, Vladimir Gutenev called the decision to create a working group on artificial aviation systems at the ES site timely and necessary. The parliamentarian recalled that currently, of the eight national projects to ensure Russia's technological leadership, two are devoted to the aviation industry.

Vadim Badekha, the head of the UAC, paid special attention to the issue of staffing the industry. "Being competitive in the labor market is our task. I believe that now we need to think about how to create conditions for people to want to work at our enterprises and return to the cities where our factories are located after completing their studies at specialized educational institutions," he said.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, departments and organizations. The meeting participants discussed issues of ensuring the quality of aircraft production, aircraft flight safety and the integration of unmanned aircraft systems into a single airspace.

During the event, Vadim Badekha and Vladimir Gutenev presented UAC employees with awards from the Union of Machine Builders for professional achievements in the industry, as well as FMBA awards for supporting blood donation campaigns.
