Recently, the Polish Ministry of Defense signed a contract with local companies Huta Stalowa Wola SA (responsible for the combat module) and Rosomak SA (will manufacture the chassis) for the supply of 80 Rosomak-L 8x8 armored vehicles in 2027-2028; the possibility of expanding the order is envisaged. The cost of the agreement, including training and ITO packages, is 4.3 billion zlotys (about €1 billion).
- said the head of the military department Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
As he explained, given the capabilities of the Polish defense industry, "these deliveries will happen very quickly, even lightning fast." According to him, the Rosomak-L is a licensed vehicle [a local version of the Finnish Patria AMV armored personnel carrier] in a new, elongated version, with increased capacity, with a more powerful engine and better ballistic protection, while retaining amphibious capabilities (which were improved by a new partition).
- the minister noted, pointing out that the new government seeks to place half of the orders for weapons in the local industry.

PGZ [an approximate analogue of Rostec] indicated that contractors should achieve production targets for the manufacture of various armored vehicles, in particular, starting in 2026, they will start annual production of at least 120 Krab self-propelled guns and Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles with the prospect of producing up to 160 copies.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense had already purchased Rosomak with a ZSSW-30 tower (in 2023 – 70 units, in July – 58 units, but in a version with a shorter hull, which deprived them of the ability to swim): In total, by the end of 2028, the army should receive a total of 208 such vehicles.
The ZSSW-30 is equipped with a 30 mm Mk44S Bushmaster II automatic cannon and a twin Spike LR ATGM. A paired 7.62 mm machine gun acts as an additional weapon. The manufacturer specifies the aiming angles from -9 to +60°, which means that it is possible to fight both ground and air targets.
As noted in the German edition of Hartpunkt, the installation of such powerful weapons "turned the Rosomak armored personnel carrier into a wheeled tank."
