Footage has been posted online showing fire at a forest plantation with 30 mm programmable Mk 310 PABM-T projectiles with aerial detonation from the Mk44 Bushmaster II autocannon of the Polish Rosomak APU armored personnel carrier.
As you can see in the footage shown, air-detonated ammunition is quite piled up in the area of the forest plantation. During the preparation for the shot, immediately before the projectile is fed into the barrel, a special programmer enters the fuse electronics through the receiving coil the distance at which the main charge should be detonated. Under the action of the rifling of the barrel, the projectile rotates around the longitudinal axis when fired and in flight. The electronics of programmable projectiles count the number of revolutions and, after a predetermined number of them, carry out an explosion. The use of air-detonated ammunition increases the effectiveness of hitting infantry hiding in trenches or lying down, as well as shooting down air targets.

Earlier it was reported about the problems faced by the Ukrainian army due to the lack of the ability to replace Western ammunition of the same caliber, as well as repair Mk 44 Bushmaster guns in Poland, since Italy is officially the owner of the corresponding license.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry for the first time reported the destruction of the Rosomak armored personnel carrier in the area of the special operation in Ukraine. Previously, defeats of combat vehicles of this type were recorded by strikes of Lancet barrage ammunition.
