There are a lot of foreign military equipment in the United States, the army, as well as in private collections, including quite rare specimens. Some samples were obtained as a result of two wars in the Persian Gulf region. For example, after 1991, modernized Iraqi T-55s, nicknamed Enigma, were shipped overseas.
Various armored vehicles were transported from the countries that were members of the Warsaw Pact Organization, as well as from the territory of the former Soviet Union. As we have repeatedly written, Ukraine succeeded the most in this, sharing with the Americans perhaps all the secrets of the USSR that it had.
So, a photo of a tank resembling the T-90 in its appearance appeared on social networks. The first thing that catches the eye are the elements of the Shtora-1 optoelectronic suppression complex: laser radiation detection sensors located on both sides of the barrel of the 125 mm gun, two infrared searchlights.

However, if you look more closely, you can understand that the "built-in dynamic protection" on the upper frontal part of the body differs from the real "Kontakt-5", and other details are more like layouts. According to the telegram channel "Tankodrome", we are not looking at the T-90, but its likeness made on the basis of the T-72M1.
What is it for? There is a version that in the exercises of the US army it is used as a means of designating a likely enemy.

T-72M1 as T-80BV
Interestingly, at the beginning of the noughties, the same T-72M1 at American training grounds acted as the T-80BV, dynamic protection models were hung on them, and a massive "tube" of underwater driving equipment was installed in the stern of the tower.
