On December 13, 2024, the Canadian company Roshel opened the first production facility in the United States, located in Shelby Township, Michigan.
As explained in the company, the new facilities are designed to meet the growing demand from American customers. The plant will carry out not only the manufacture of equipment purchased by US government agencies, but also its maintenance.
Prior to that, the company located in Canada was the only site where the company produced MRAP-type armored vehicles, including a Ford F-550 Senator chassis for the needs of the Armed Forces, although this BA was seen in other conflicts.
Allegedly, after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, more than 1,400 copies of the Senator were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and their production volumes reached 140 units per month. Considering these indicators, Roshel is one of the main suppliers of armored vehicles for the Ukrainian army.

The Senator is equipped with a 6.7-liter 330 hp turbodiesel engine, has a power reserve of 800 km, a load capacity of up to 2000 kg, accommodates up to 10 people and can carry various weapons options, including remotely controlled systems and ATGMs. The level of protection ranges from the 1st, minimum (it can withstand a bullet from a 7.62 mm simple cartridge and the detonation of hand grenades under the car) to the 2nd (a BZ bullet from 7.62 mm and 6 kg BB) according to STANAG 4569.
The company is engaged not only in the development of new modifications of the Senator (in particular, a medical version was recently introduced), but also creates other products, for example, the Captain BA, a light tactical armored vehicle based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 chassis.
