The parties will prepare proposals to improve the industry legislation and regulatory framework
The United Engine Corporation and the Aeronext Association have agreed to cooperate on the development of unmanned aviation technologies. The parties will prepare proposals to improve industry legislation and the regulatory framework governing the use of unmanned aircraft systems. The corresponding agreement was signed at the International Engine Building Forum in Moscow.
The agreement was signed by Vadim Badekha, General Director of the UEC, and Gleb Babintsev, General Director of the Association of Employers and Enterprises of the Aeronext Unmanned Aircraft Systems Industry.
The parties agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation for the formation and implementation of scientific and technical policy in the field of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). To develop the necessary competencies, the UEC and the association will cooperate on information, expert-analytical and organizational issues.
"The direction of developing new domestic power plants for unmanned aircraft systems is of great interest to us. Close cooperation with the association will make it possible to formulate technical and operational requirements for promising aircraft engines, including hybrid power plants. We will also determine the projected demand and prepare the basis for the use of new technical solutions in the creation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles," said Vadim Badekha, General Director of the UEC, member of the bureau of the Central Council of Soyuzmash of Russia LLC.
Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to prepare proposals on the use of domestic developments in national projects and significant initiatives. The specialists of the UEC and the association also intend to jointly work out issues of improving industry legislation and the regulatory technical base governing the use of UAS in the country.
In addition, the parties will pay great attention to identifying priority areas for the development of technologies in the field of development and production of UAS, their components and software. An important area will be the creation of advanced technological groundwork in the development of power plants and power supply systems for unmanned aircraft. To do this, the parties will exchange relevant information and conduct joint research, testing and expertise.
"UEC has a large design and technical base, as well as successful experience in creating new products. Hybrid power plants are very promising in unmanned aviation. The line starts with relatively small ones, from 20 kW, but their demand is already measured by thousands of products. I am convinced that our partnership will help stimulate the development of domestic power plants for unmanned aircraft. The Association unites leading scientific and industrial organizations, being in fact a single platform for the exchange of experience and promotion of Russian developments on the market," said Gleb Babintsev, Director of the Aeronext Association.
The Aeronext Association is the first and largest professional association of enterprises in the unmanned aircraft systems industry in Russia. It includes more than 70 companies in the scientific and educational sphere, as well as developers and operators of UAS. The association's activities are aimed at ensuring the development and adoption of strategic documents for the development of the industry and other regulatory legal acts that allow increasing the capacity and growth of the UAS market in Russia. The International Engine Building Forum is being held in Moscow at VDNH from October 23 to October 25.
