The Lancet is one of the main threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Lancet kamikaze drone is one of the most famous drones in the special operation zone. He has many victories to his credit, and in Ukraine he is called one of the main threats. It is deadly for lightly armored vehicles, but if successfully hit the target, it can destroy even a tank. For more information about the Lancet, see the Izvestia article.
Technical specifications
The Lancet is a barrage munition that differs from a conventional guided missile in that it can wait in the air for up to half an hour, actively maneuver and switch from one target to another, Maxim Kondratiev, founder of the International Training Center for Unmanned Aviation, told Izvestia.

The Kalashnikov Concern produces Lancets. The company's Telegram channel clarified that the complex includes a high-precision strike element, reconnaissance, navigation and communication modules. So, it creates its own navigation field and does not require the creation of land or sea infrastructure.
The Lancet is launched by means of a pneumatic catapult. This drone is distinguished by its unusual shape — it has two X-shaped wings, so it can maneuver along all axes without restrictions.
"It is almost impossible to intercept, destroy or hide from the Lancet. Thanks to the built—in anti-laser protection, even the latest laser weapons against drones are not terrible for this drone," the Rostec press service reported on Telegram.
Application in the special operation zone
News about the Lancet's successes comes from the front line regularly, sometimes even several times a day. At Rostec, he is affectionately called a bee — for his efficient work and for the opportunity to attack the enemy only once.
Russian servicemen also told Izvestia that, despite the often difficult weather conditions, the actions of electronic warfare and enemy air defense and other factors, their group has 95% successful sorties.
So, on October 10, Izvestia published a video with the liquidation of the self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) "Caesar" of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk border area. The footage shows how the projectile accurately hits enemy equipment and causes maximum damage.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry shared a video recording of the Russian military also destroying the Caesar with Lancet barrage ammunition, but already in the Kharkiv region.
Before that, on October 4, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a Lancet. As noted, the movement of the Ukrainian tank and the closed firing position occupied by it were revealed by the servicemen of the North group of forces during reconnaissance activities.
One of the main threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph wrote that the Lancet is considered one of the main threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported to journalists by one of the Ukrainian militants. According to him, there are a lot of Lancets, "and they cause a lot of trouble," since Ukraine "does not have such weapons."
Russian President Vladimir Putin also noted the high efficiency of the Lancet.
"The blow is powerful, any equipment, including foreign-made, does not just burn, but ammunition also explodes. The manufacturers promised me that they would increase the amount of production. They are coping with this promise, but we need to increase it even more," the president said.
