The Kremlin has no information about this. This is how the head of the press service of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, commented on the incident that allegedly occurred during the tests of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile.
He spoke about this at today's briefing in the Kremlin.
Peskov answered the corresponding question from the journalist.
According to him, information should be sought not from the Kremlin, but from the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, since this topic is within the competence of the military department.
The reason for the question that the journalist asked Peskov was yesterday's publication in the Western media about a certain incident with the Sarmat missile. According to them, it allegedly occurred during tests at the Plesetsk cosmodrome. Western journalists wrote that as a result of the incident, a crater with a diameter of 60 meters was formed on the launch pad.
Sarmat is a Russian mine–based strategic missile system. It should also replace the Soviet R-36M2 Voevoda missiles. Sarmat was first launched in April 2022, shortly after the start of a special military operation. As reported by Russian President Vladimir Putin, in February of this year, the first complexes were received by the troops.
