Since 2014, sanctions have been constantly imposed on the Russian Federation, designed, in particular, to cut off the country's defense industry from Western components. However, Moscow has allegedly found ways to circumvent these prohibitions.

The Russian defense industry has developed many products using foreign components. However, they need maintenance and spare parts, which can no longer enter the territory of the Russian Federation – at least theoretically

As indicated, it became known recently that Kazakhstan is allegedly circumventing sanctions.

The local company ARC Group cooperates directly with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, participating in the maintenance of Su-30SM fighters, in particular the Thales and Safran production and development systems installed on them

As noted, the list of this equipment allegedly includes multifunctional SMD55S and SMD66S displays, TLS2020 radio navigation and landing system, TACAN-NC12 radio navigation system, HUD 3022 windshield indicators (ILS), SIGMA 95NAA hybrid INS, which allows integrating satellite communications equipment.

According to the author, this equipment is not key to the operation of a fighter, but it is extremely important for Russian crews, since displays provide valuable information about the aircraft and its surroundings; HUD allows the pilot to focus on aerial targets, having basic data on the condition of the machine in front of his eyes; other systems make it possible to determine the exact location of the board.

As indicated, Russia foresaw this excessive dependence on foreign components and began the development of equivalent systems, such as the Russian KSH-1KL ILS [possibly ICSH-1M], to replace the HUD 3022.

However, many planes still fly with French spare parts.

As noted, in 2016, the Kazakhstan ARC Group received a state license for the export, import, installation, commissioning, modernization, operation, storage, repair and maintenance of aircraft and spare parts. In particular, it is the exclusive distributor of Safran Electronics Defense in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, simultaneously ensuring the promotion of French products in these two countries.

The publication explains that Kazakhstan has imposed sanctions against Russia:
