Swimmers and underwater drones are being detected: contractor claims "record sales" of Sentinel sonar

The British company Forcys announces record sales of the Sentinel sonar developed by Covelya Group Wavefront Systems with the same "registration".

Sentinel detects, identifies and tracks swimmers and unmanned underwater vehicles approaching an object from any direction

- explains the contractor.

These sonars can be installed on watercraft or deployed on sonar buoys as part of a defense system designed to provide awareness of the underwater situation.

Sentinel is able to identify swimmers at a range of up to 1000 m and underwater drones at a distance of 1500 m.

This takes underwater threat detection to a new level

As indicated, sonars can be used to perform military tasks (ensuring the safety of ships and naval forces), protecting critical national infrastructure, protecting commercial vessels and VIPs. In particular, Sentinel was used to monitor the Seine River during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
