The M113 armored personnel carrier, which is in service with numerous armies of the world, has been in service since the 1960s. To match the modern battlefield, it needs a deep modernization.
One of the options for improving the combat characteristics of the machine was the recently introduced version equipped with a CPWS turret from the Belgian manufacturer John Cockerill, which is capable of integrating various weapons systems.

CPWS can be equipped with 25-30 mm guns such as the ATK M242, Nexter M811 or Oerlikon KBA or M230LF. The tower has electro-optical sensors that allow the use of weapons day, night or in adverse weather conditions.
The kit may include paired 7.62 or 12.7 mm machine guns or automatic grenade launchers with the possibility of reloading from the inside. The main gun can be equipped with a dual feed system and have up to 155 shells ready for use. The elevation angle ranges from -10 to +60°.

CPWS is made of ballistic aluminum and has protection up to level 5 according to STANAG 4569 (it must withstand the impact of a 25 mm armor-piercing sub-caliber projectile). It can be equipped with up to 8 smoke PU, panoramic sight.
