The construction of new docks is carried out within the framework of the USC dock program at several enterprises of the Corporation at once.
The floating dock project with a launching capacity of 12,000 tons was developed by the Central Marine Design Bureau of USC Almaz. The flat sections of the structure are manufactured at the USC Vimpel plant in Rybinsk. The assembly of sections in volume and the construction of the dock will be carried out at Yantar. The planned completion date is 2026.
"Thanks to the new floating dock capable of launching vessels weighing up to 12 thousand tons, the Yantar plant will be able to work with larger ships and vessels, which will significantly expand its production capabilities. In addition to Yantar, the dock program is being implemented at 15 more enterprises of the corporation. For example, in July of this year, a new floating transport dock of project 17574 Amur was laid at the Amur Shipyard. The construction of a floating dock for the Arkhangelsk branch of the Zvezdochka Ship repair plant Krasnaya Kuznitsa has also begun," said Sergey Lyashenko, Deputy General Director of USC JSC.
The currently existing floating dock Baltika of project 1769 is the only one at the Yantar enterprise and was commissioned in 1972.
The new facility is being built as part of the USC dock program with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
