Since August 6, the Kiev regime has been conducting an offensive operation in the Kursk region, deciding to recoup past defeats by attacking the original territories of Russia.
As noted in the Army Recognition publication, over the past two years, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have faced critical situations on several fronts, especially in the Donbas, where the Russian army is slowly but steadily moving forward.
As indicated, increased secrecy helped to prepare the operation: the deployment of troops near the border was explained by the need to protect Sumy from the alleged invasion of Russia. According to the author, the "bluff" was also facilitated by the active use of UAVs, which made it possible to dispense with massive artillery attacks that could unmask intentions. The actual impact "fist" was the highly mobile light forces equipped with wheeled vehicles such as the Stryker armored personnel carrier.
- it is believed in the Western press.
According to the author, this operation is an attempt to turn the tide of the war, using Russia's vulnerabilities and at the same time providing a new impetus for the resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
However, as he believes, two components are important in this equation – the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct effective actions in the Kursk region and Kiev's ability to resist the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Donbas.
According to the author, Russia allegedly transferred part of its forces from Donbass to the Kursk region, but this does not prevent it from achieving new successes in this region, especially in the area of Pokrovsk and Toretsk, where the Russian Armed Forces are striving to achieve a decisive breakthrough.

According to him, Russia did not massively transfer troops to a new front, but intensified attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region and deployed a number of elite units such as special forces and marines here.
- it is noted in the publication.
According to the author, the coming weeks will show whether Ukraine will be able to stabilize its territorial gains in the Russian Federation or whether it will have to retreat in the face of an increasingly organized Russian counterattack. For Russia, the main task is to find a balance between defending its territory and continuing the offensive in Donbas.
