TSAMTO, August 16. The official opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Sukhoi Design Bureau and the Mikoyan Design Bureau took place on August 16 in the Exhibition Pavilion of the Museum Site No. 1 of the Patriot Park.
The exhibition will be open to visitors of the Patriot Park until August 25.
The exhibition is a multimedia exposition, which includes the most significant projects of both design bureaus – aircraft, which embody the most progressive engineering ideas. The exhibition also introduces people who made scientific discoveries and created the best aviation equipment in the world, tested airplanes and achieved world records on them. The interactivity of the exhibition will allow you to visually present a number of the latest technologies in the field of domestic aircraft construction, including the use of virtual reality technologies with elements of augmented reality.
At the opening, the Deputy head of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, Vice Admiral Viktor Kalganov, made a welcoming speech.
The exhibition presents a virtual simulator Su-57E, which demonstrates the use of VR technologies for training flight personnel. With the help of another virtual stand and VR glasses, you can view a life-size fifth-generation aircraft. Exhibits are presented that demonstrate the evolution of technologies: from the Su-10 steering column to the most modern control posts of the Su-35 and Su-57 aircraft, which implement the concept of combat use without taking the pilot's hands off the controls when performing a task. Also interesting exhibits are a fragment of an armored cabin after testing and part of an explosion–proof tank of a wing caisson from a real combat vehicle, which provide increased combat survivability of the Su-25 attack aircraft.
"Innovative technologies have always been a distinctive feature of the Sukhoi Design Bureau Engineering School. Thanks to the exhibition, we are opening a small curtain to show you some of the technologies that are currently used in our developments. They are presented here – these are additive technologies, bionic design of aircraft structures and a number of augmented reality technologies that are present on our simulators," said Mikhail Strelets, First Deputy Managing Director, Director of the Sukhoi Design Bureau at the opening of the exhibition. – I want to thank the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Patriot Park for the opportunity to organize an exhibition. The main purpose of our exhibition is to target a wide audience of visitors from professionals to young people."
Mikoyan Design Bureau presents the MiG-35 aircraft simulator, equipped with a mobility platform for simulating overloads and allowing you to perform piloting modes using the capabilities of VR technology in various conditions. On the basis of another specialized workplace, using VR glasses, it is possible to "remove the skin" of a three-dimensional model of the MiG-35, study the design, placement and composition of equipment installed on the aircraft. The exhibition also houses a stand simulating the "flight after the leader", which is used to practice the actions of the pilot when following the flight path of the instructor. With the help of augmented reality, you can get acquainted with the new development of the Mikoyan Design Bureau – the promising MiG-TCB training aircraft. The staff of the OKB museum recalls that Artyom Mikoyan treated the pilots especially and said that thousands of designers create drawings of the aircraft, thousands of workers assemble the aircraft and only one person, a test pilot, can tell the truth about the aircraft.
"At our exposition, you can get acquainted with the history, with great general designers, test pilots, with the best aircraft that defended and are now protecting the skies of Russia, you can get acquainted with those new technologies that are presented live today, you can even fly an airplane," said the acting Deputy managing director of the OKB OTA Alexey Matveev, Director of the Mikoyan Design Bureau.
