INTERFAX - The use of competencies of enterprises of the military-industrial complex in medical instrumentation was discussed by specialized specialists within the framework of the business program of the Army-2024 forum, which was held in Kubinka near Moscow, the press service of the Shvabe holding reported on Thursday.
"The cooperation of industrial enterprises, medical and scientific institutions, as well as representatives of government authorities allows us to achieve high results in improving the quality of medical products and the quality of care provided," said Vadim Kalyugin, CEO of Shvabe Holding, quoted by the press service.
He said that during the meeting, the issue of combating socially significant problems such as cardiovascular and oncological diseases, which occupy a leading place among the causes of disability and mortality, was worked out.
"The meeting showed that active work is currently underway to develop new methods of diagnosis and treatment. Also, during the discussion, the importance of supporting domestic production was repeatedly emphasized," Kalyugin stressed.
According to the press service, the participants of the "round table" were addressed by Valeria Tonkoshkurova, director for the development of projects in the medical field of Shvabe, who spoke about the project of remote long-term continuous monitoring of ECG - Rhythm 1. The development was carried out on the basis of the Institute of Bionic Technologies and Engineering of Sechenov University. The holding acted as a technological partner of the project.
"In real time, the medical device allows you to monitor the ECG and track episodes of cardiac arrhythmia and conduction, including helping to identify asymptomatic diseases. There are no domestic analogues of this product. It is planned to release a model range in which the devices will be equipped with sensors for continuous monitoring of blood pressure, glucose and lactate. Today, the development is undergoing the necessary tests to obtain a registration certificate," the press service informs.
Elena Druzhinina, Director of Cooperation between Science and Business at Rostec, said that the state corporation's enterprises produce more than 150 types of equipment for various fields of medicine.
She noted that cooperation with leading Russian universities plays a significant role in the creation of high-tech and in-demand products. As an example, the speaker cited a number of implemented projects. Among them is the MIM-N laser microscope. It was developed by UOMZ together with the Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for early diagnosis of oncology and analysis of the effectiveness of antitumor drugs.
The report notes that the participants of the round table also discussed the issue of supporting domestic producers. Thus, Kirill Litvitsky, General Director of the Medical Equipment Consortium, spoke about a comprehensive contract that is used today for the supply of medical equipment for the needs of medical facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This mechanism includes an insurance system for high-tech medical equipment, its warranty and service for a period of five years. This model is applicable only to Russian-made equipment and encourages the customer to choose domestic solutions.
