The Russian army is gradually replenished with robotic platforms for various purposes, thanks to which such platforms have become widespread. Today, fighters use both handicrafts and industrial products. Kurganmashzavod presented one of the novelties within the framework of the Army-2024 forum. This is reported by the Rostec press service in its TG channel.
Specialists of the Kurgan Machine-building Plant have developed a robotic platform "Karakal". The platform is universal, designed to solve various tasks on the battlefield, depending on the module installed on it. It can also be used as a vehicle for cargo delivery or evacuation of the wounded.
Rostec has not provided full specifications, a power reserve of 150 km is known, as well as a load capacity of 500 kg. The platform is tracked, the developers preferred a tracked base to a wheeled one, although wheels have recently been widely used in their production. This was done because of the speed. Platforms that are too slow are destroyed faster.

The remote control panel provides control of the robot at a distance of up to 2 km. Not only cameras are installed on the platform, but also a thermal imager, which allows you to move at night.
