Recall that on April 21, 2022, the Airbus group announced the signing of a contract for the supply of three Airbus C295W aircraft to the Angolan Air Force. According to the terms of the contract, one aircraft is supplied in a standard transport configuration, and the other two will be delivered in a variant of the C295 MSA (Maritime Surveillance Aircraft) basic patrol aircraft equipped with the Airbus FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System) search and sighting system. All three aircraft are made in the C295W configuration with winglets on the wings and are equipped with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics complex.
The first transport aircraft built for Angola with the serial number S-207 (T-412) made its first flight at the company in Seville back in October 2022, but then was used there to train Angolan personnel. Two aircraft built for Angola in the variant of the C295 MSA base patrol aircraft with serial numbers S-226 and S-228 (Angolan tail numbers R-751 and R-752) began flight tests in Seville in the spring of 2024.
The Angolan Air Force thus became the 38th operator of C295 aircraft.
