The France Info portal reported on the composition of the new package of military assistance that France will provide to Ukraine.
According to French journalists, this package will include a significant number of weapons. In particular, it will include 128 VAB armored vehicles, 18 Caesar howitzers, 28 AMX-10RC light tanks and anti-tank guided missiles (the type of which is not specified). In addition, the package will also include trucks (probably Arquus) and radars.
France will train Ukrainian soldiers at military training grounds and training centers. They will be trained in the operation of tanks and other types of weapons.
Paris has already handed over long-range SCALP missiles and Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. Recently, President Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force positively assessed this decision, stressing that the Mirage 2000 is an aircraft capable of effectively performing combat missions.
Anti-tank guided missiles attracted particular attention from Western commentators. Some suggest that Ukraine may receive fifth-generation Akeron missiles. These missiles have already been delivered to France in 2023.
Akeron is a multifunctional missile designed primarily to equip infantry units. It can be integrated into combat vehicles or warships. The missile has a range of up to 5 km and can be used against tanks, infrastructure and infantry. It was developed by MBDA France to replace the Franco-German MILAN and the American FGM-148 Javelin.
