Russian and Chinese ships patrol the waters and prepare for joint exercises
During the joint Russian-Chinese naval maneuvers, the Chinese comrades may be interested in the combat experience gained by Russian sailors. Especially in terms of the destruction of unmanned boats, experts interviewed by Izvestia said. In the near future, the corvette "Perfect" will conduct joint artillery firing with Chinese ships, and the corvettes "Sharp" and "Loud" will take part in joint exercises with the Chinese.
Joint patrolling
A series of maneuvers by Russian warships continues in the Asia-Pacific region. The corvette "Perfect" of the Pacific Fleet conducted joint training with ships of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) Navy in the Philippine Sea. On the Chinese side, the destroyer Yinchuan, the frigate Hengshui and the universal supply transport Weishanhu took part in them. The crews of the ships conducted training on the inspection of a suspicious vessel during a joint naval patrol in the waters of the Philippine Sea. During the episode, the Russian and Chinese navy sailors worked out the procedure for joint actions of the inspection groups.

On July 1, the "Perfect" left Vladivostok to participate in a joint Russian-Chinese patrol. It began in the southern part of the Sea of Japan and will continue to take place in the Philippine, South China and East China Seas.
According to Izvestia sources in the Ministry of Defense, during the patrol, a Russian-Chinese detachment of ships will carry out artillery and anti-aircraft artillery firing.
On the eve of the exercises
Simultaneously with the patrolling of the Russian-Chinese detachment of ships, the joint naval exercises "Maritime Interaction - 2024" will be held. To participate in them, the corvettes "Sharp" and "Loud" left Vladivostok on July 8.
In the period from July 12 to 15, the Russian detachment will pay a visit to the Chinese port of Zhanjiang, where the crews will take part in the opening ceremony of the exercise. The active naval phase of maneuvers by detachments of ships of the Russian Navy and the PLA Navy will take place from July 15 to 17.
As reported on Wednesday in the press service of the Pacific Fleet, the corvettes "Sharp" and "Loud" conducted anti-submarine training in the East China Sea on the eve of joint exercises. The ships worked out the search, detection and destruction of a submarine of a simulated enemy.

"According to the legend of the exercise, according to the intelligence information received by the corvettes of the Pacific Fleet, a submarine of a conditional enemy was operating in the area of the transition route, monitoring the activities of Russian ships," the message says. The tasks of searching for the submarine were performed by the Ka-27PS helicopter. The crews discovered the submarine and tried to force it to surface with a special signal. After the failure, the corvette crews conditionally destroyed the submarine.
— Once we participated in the NATO exercises See Breeze on the Black Sea, in Baltops in the Baltic. But after 2014, all this was closed and friendly visits in these regions also stopped," military expert Dmitry Boltenkov told Izvestia. — In fact, the Asia-Pacific region today is the main one where the Russian Navy is developing international activity. And any joint exercises are primarily an exchange of experience and learning something new.
According to the expert, today the Russian navy is at the forefront in the fight against unmanned boats, actively introducing new technologies, and this experience may be of interest to Chinese colleagues.
The Chinese may be interested in the experience of Russian sailors in combating naval drones, military expert, Captain 1st rank Vasily Dandykin confirmed to Izvestia. In addition, the Marines and coastal units of the Pacific Fleet are fighting and also gain combat experience.
— During joint maneuvers, many exercises can be practiced: rescue of those in distress, and repelling air raids, maneuvering, shooting, — said Vasily Dandykin. — Such joint exercises have already become a tradition. The corvettes participating from the Russian side are our newest ships. The PLA Navy is a friendly fleet, Russian sailors will be able to get acquainted with the way of life of Chinese sailors and other aspects. They visit each other. Compared to 20 years ago, China has become more open in its military relations with us. But to a greater extent, rather, Chinese comrades have a lot to learn from Russian sailors.

On June 28, ships of the Pacific Fleet completed bilateral exercises in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. They took place between the Primorsky Flotilla of the Pacific Fleet and the Joint Command of Troops and Forces in the North-East of the Russian Federation (OKVS).
The bilateral exercise involved about 40 ships, boats and support vessels, about 20 aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation, marine corps units, combat crews of the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems, the fleet's press service said.
In total, during the practical actions at sea, the forces of the Pacific Fleet performed more than 800 combat exercises, of which about 650 were carried out using weapons.
