A mobile refueling station has been developed for the Russian army, sources told Izvestia in the Ministry of Defense. This is a special container that is installed on an all-terrain truck. It has an operator's room, from where you can manage the refueling of equipment and keep fuel records. Experts note that the novelty will allow gas stations to quickly change their location, which will reduce losses among military personnel.
Refueling under fire
The new mobile refueling station will serve battalion tactical groups, including those operating in the special military operation zone. All its equipment is placed in one container, which is installed on the KamAZ-5350 — this is an all-terrain vehicle, sources in the Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia.
The interlocutors of the publication clarified that the container has a compartment for the operator's room, from where all the necessary operations for refueling equipment are carried out — stocks of hot and motor oils are located in separate containers. It is equipped with all necessary life support systems.
The container also has compartments for a generator, an electric motor, a gas tank, spare parts, tools and fire extinguishers. When creating it, the experience of its own was studied and taken into account. If necessary, it can be removed from the car and installed on a prepared site or in a caponier. To do this, the container is equipped with hydraulic loading and unloading devices and parking supports, the interlocutors of Izvestia noted.

Recently, there have been a lot of developments in the combat support system, said Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, Associate professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
— The battalion tactical group is the unit whose fighters are on the front line, — he explained. — And it is, of course, the most difficult to provide them. It doesn't matter if they are attacking or on the defensive — their communications take the entire fire attack of the enemy on themselves. They bear the brunt, so they are the ones who need uninterrupted provision of everything they need. Moving forward largely depends on how quickly the fighters on the front line will receive supplies of fuel and lubricants.
The expert noted that it is not only about the mobility of tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles and other military equipment, but also about the operation of weapons.
"Everything that shoots, from a cannon to a submachine gun, requires lubrication," he reminded. — And this is very important. If you study the history of military failures, they are often caused by "stragglers", that is, the unsatisfactory operation of the logistics system. We remember this and are constantly improving it.
The closer to the line of contact, the greater the danger to the supply chain, the more difficult their work, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia.
— Drones are constantly hanging over communications, — he noted. — Our tankers and fuel and lubricants bases are constantly being hunted, these are one of the highest priority goals. The new machine will allow you to quickly and covertly organize a fuel distribution point, competently adjust fuel accounting. At the first threat with such equipment, it will become much easier to change the location, it will all help save people.
The expert noted that the refueling point was made based on the experience gained during a special military operation.

Vasily Dandykin recalled that the movement of personnel and weapons at the front means a lot: the largest range of equipment is in constant motion — from tanks to motorcycles and ATVs.
New field fuel depots
The organs of the rear of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were seriously reformed in the 2010s. There was a merger of two previously independent types of support that existed in the structure of the rear of the Russian Armed Forces — technical and logistical. As a result, the troops received a unified logistics system.
At the same time, fundamentally new field fuel depots appeared in the army — with elastic containers. They are made of thermoplastic polyurethane and are capable of operating at temperatures from -60 to +50 degrees Celsius. The field fuel depot consists of several "pillows", each with a volume of 50 cubic meters.

The flexible tank can be installed on any ground: on sand, rocks or in a swampy area, in winter — directly on the snow. If necessary, it can be quickly buried in the ground. At the same time, a new type of tank is much more convenient than a metal analog — usually well-known 200-liter barrels were used in the army.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation previously reported that the chain of fuel delivery to the front line begins in the deep rear zone. At the unloading station, fuels and lubricants from railway tanks are delivered to a mobile warehouse in special camouflaged polymer tanks. The fuel pre-passes all control tests in an expanded laboratory.
Only after that, fuel and lubricants are transported to stationary warehouses that are closer to the line of contact. From there, tankers deliver it to various sites in the war zone. Mobile gas stations will be integrated into this network.
