During a special military operation, many thousands of Russian servicemen live in the field, while the proximity of the line of contact requires special organization of household services. Recently, new funds and equipment have been supplied to the rear units. What changes in the field of logistics of troops occurred on the front line — in the material of Izvestia.
Wash it for a whole platoon
In May, household dishwashers began to arrive in the troops of the Zapad group. At the beginning of the year, their use was tested in the base, rear areas, as well as directly at the strongholds. Based on the results of testing, it was decided to equip the rear units with new products to provide assault and combat units.
The field dishwasher can use both running water and portable containers. In particular, it is possible to organize the supply of water from the well using a pump. On average, washing dishes takes less than half an hour. According to sources, two such devices can wash a set of dishes for an entire motorized rifle platoon.
Underground life
Underground field catering facilities for military personnel have been set up on the line of contact, consisting of a canteen, storage rooms, a baking area and a place for officers to eat. In order to get to the dining room with dining tables and a distribution counter, you need to go down a few meters underground. The warehouses contain canned goods, cereals, semi-finished products, vegetables, water and other products. In a separate room underground there is a kitchen with an oven and ventilation.
In one of the areas of their military, logistics specialists of the group of troops organized an entire underground city. The main purpose of the construction was the safety of personnel — protection from shrapnel and projectiles. The dugouts were covered with concrete slabs, and the top was covered with earth for additional reinforcement. Their depth is three meters, the length of all corridors and rooms is about 3 km. All necessary infrastructure is available: living quarters, a kitchen for 75 soldiers, a dining room, a laundry room, a dryer, a sewing workshop, a hairdresser, a sauna and a small gym. Everything has been done so that the serviceman can rest in peace and put himself and things in order.
— Our consumer service system is very well developed, — Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, Associate professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told Izvestia. — It is constantly being modernized, various kinds of innovations are being introduced. A lot has been tried in Syria. As for Ukraine, we are using it more and more here, and further improvement of the system of household services for our soldiers is underway.
According to the expert, today the Russian army is the most advanced in these matters.
— Back in the days when we were communicating more or less normally with NATO countries, even Poland showed interest in these new products of ours in the field of consumer services for soldiers, — said Alexander Perendzhiev. — They were interested in their troops who were in Afghanistan. Well, it's clear that now is not the kind of relationship that they can be interested in. And, of course, this system is developing, because a soldier on the battlefield should feel comfortable. In general, when a soldier eats well, has a good rest and smokes well, then, in principle, he is already a ready-made hero, I would say so. I'm ready for the feat.

The units of the rear of the group of troops of the Central Military District include a bath and laundry train, which has no analogues in the world. It is capable of providing offline three meals a day, washing, washing, drying and disinfection of military equipment with a capacity of more than 1 thousand troops per day and more than 2 tons of laundry.
