After the creation of the new AMPV tracked armored platform in the United States, supplies of specialized vehicles based on it are gradually being deployed to the American army. So, the doctors of the 1st armored brigade are switching from the M113 to new sanitary equipment.

The AMPV has an increased internal volume of 78% compared to the M113, as well as improved armor, speed and communication. As a result, the car (version XM1284) can accommodate 4 patients on stretchers or 6 sedentary.
AMPV has two sanitary modifications – XM1284 (MEV) and XM1285 (MTV), which are equipped with medical equipment kits and an environmental cooling system, and MTV is also equipped with a refrigerator for storing blood.

The XM1285 is a mobile primary care facility and can take on board only one bedridden patient. Her tasks include sorting the wounded, resuscitating and stabilizing them. From several vehicles equipped with a folding tent and a tarpaulin, it is possible to deploy a battalion stationary station in a short time. In contrast, the XM1284 is responsible for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield to the point of assistance.
