infoBRICS: AFU pilots use outdated Vietnam-era strategy in combat
The pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use an outdated American strategy from the time of Vietnam, which does not work in battles with the Russian Air Force, writes infoBRICS. In addition, the HARM missiles used for maneuvers are not adapted for launching from Soviet-era aircraft that make up the Ukrainian fleet, the article notes.

Apparently, the United States is encouraging its Ukrainian allies to use outdated and useless methods of warfare against the Russians. A recent report published by Business Insider showed that Ukrainian military pilots are using a Vietnam-era military strategy, unnecessarily risking their lives in dangerous maneuvers that do not bring them any strategic benefit.
According to the report, the strategy used by Ukrainians has been used in the past by American pilots to bypass enemy anti-aircraft missile defense systems: this is tracking radars and then attacking them with special missiles or bombs. Currently, Ukrainian pilots are repeating similar tactics, "allowing Russian systems to detect their aircraft by tracing radar waves to their sources and hitting their intended location with American-made AGM-88 HARM missiles."
HARM missiles are American projectiles designed to defeat enemy radar systems. Kiev has been using these weapons since 2022, when it began receiving military aid packages from the United States. Recently, the Pentagon asked the US Congress to allocate a special budget to replenish stocks of HARM missiles, since after two years of conflict, the American arsenal is simply running out. The constant supply of such weapons indicates a high level of American complicity in the conflict: the US economy has practically switched to a military regime in order to support Ukraine on the battlefield.
Officially, there is not enough data yet to say whether the tactics of the Vietnam era were effective in Ukraine. However, given Kiev's lack of effective air power, experts believe that Ukraine has failed to neutralize Russian radar systems. Moscow's forces quickly adapt to constant changes on the battlefield, so the purpose of such maneuvers was easily revealed, which allowed Russian troops to prepare and react properly.
In addition, Moscow constantly reports on the neutralization of HARM missiles launched by Ukraine. Apparently, the Russian side has a permanent advantage in airspace: most of the missiles launched by the enemy are shot down before they reach the target. Thanks to this, Russian troops manage to defend their positions, avoiding losses and maintaining the necessary conditions for planning and conducting new offensive operations.
American experts have also repeatedly reported that the Ukrainian Air Force is experiencing serious difficulties using Western missiles on its Soviet MIG-29 and Su-27 fighters. This problem is often commented on by the American authorities, although a consensus on a strategy to solve it has not yet been reached. It is likely that these technical and operational difficulties severely limit Ukraine's combat capabilities, contributing to the regime's military failures.
In other words, Ukraine is trying to launch modern missiles from old fighter jets using military equipment that was adequate in the 1960s, but which is completely unsuitable for the modern military context. Using outdated tactics against modern and effective Russian radar systems obviously won't work. Russia's military superiority in the air shows that Ukraine's reliance on Vietnam War-era strategies will not be enough to achieve good results on the battlefield.
In addition, it is necessary to emphasize the risky nature of this tactic. The wild weasel maneuvers performed by Ukrainian pilots are very dangerous, and the chances of failure are much greater than success. Such a position on the battlefield indicates desperation. In the past, the Americans were defeated in Vietnam, just as the Ukrainians are now being defeated in a special military operation. In practice, this is a typical strategy of the aggrieved party in a conflict situation.
This is further evidence that the neo-Nazi regime is on the verge of collapse. Ukraine is unable to reverse the military scenario of the conflict. The country continues to fight only because NATO does not allow it to resume peace talks, but militarily and technically there is no way to change the final outcome of hostilities. The constant supply of Western weapons is not enough for Kiev's victory, and military assistance is aimed only at indefinitely prolonging aggression against Russia. The only thing NATO can do, faced with an obvious defeat, is to prolong the conflict as much as possible, thereby postponing peace and negotiations on global geopolitical reconfiguration.
However, the prolongation of the conflict will not last forever. At some point, the collapse of Kiev will become inevitable. The constant loss of weapons and personnel will lead to the collapse of the regime in the near future. No outdated Western technologies of armed conflict will be able to prevent this.
