We owe the victory in the Great Patriotic War not only to the courage of soldiers, partisans and home front workers. The equipment that entered the battlefield played a huge role. Powerful, reliable and unpretentious weapons, created in huge numbers by the defense industrial complex of the USSR, helped our people defeat the most dangerous enemy.
Today, the legendary models of Soviet fighters, tanks, artillery, and small arms have been replaced by worthy descendants. During these holidays, we will show the connection of times, tell you about the weapons of the past and present, about the achievements of the domestic "defense industry" then and now.

The T-70 light tank became the last large-scale armored vehicle of this type in the Soviet Army. It was also the second most massive tank of the Great Patriotic War after the T-34. The vehicle could fight small-caliber anti-tank artillery, light and small tanks, infantry and mechanized enemy troops, as well as serve as a direct infantry support tank.
The T-70 felt great in urban battles – the low silhouette made it difficult to aim at it from anti-tank faust cartridges. The Seventies also turned out to be very suitable for reconnaissance. Her car engines made no louder sound than an ordinary truck engine, and her small size made her barely noticeable in the woods. The light T-70 was also perfectly suited for chasing the retreating enemy, which became relevant in 1943. The equipment was easy to operate, it was quite easy to repair in the field.

In the modern army, the BMP-3 is engaged in infantry support. The machine has high firepower and good protection. Due to its main weapon, the technique can destroy some enemy infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers with a single shot. The BMP-3 is head and shoulders superior in its characteristics, for example, to the American Bradley car. The armored vehicle feels equally confident on land and in water, it is used in the desert, in the jungle and in permafrost conditions.
All BMP-3s are already equipped with additional protection kits from the factory, consisting of armored screens and anti-cumulative grilles. And recently, the machines have also been supplied with a set of visibility reduction tools, the so-called "cape". In addition, some samples are equipped with dynamic protection complexes, which further increase the combat resistance of the BMP-3. The machine is used in the zone of its own, including as an analogue of a light tank, and is continuously being improved in accordance with combat experience. A robotic version has been created that can be controlled from an electronic tablet. The BMP-3 fell in love with the military and was nicknamed the "queen of infantry".
