The mortgage board on the section of the Sukhona floating dock was installed by Acting CEO of Sevmash Evgeny Borodin and CEO of Sevmash Shelf JSC Yuri Zelyanin.
"This is a historic and significant event for our company,– said Evgeny Borodin. – The current floating dock has worked flawlessly for more than 40 years. With its help, dozens of nuclear submarines of the third and fourth generations were launched. This hydraulic engineering facility has become a symbol of the technological capabilities of the enterprise. Now it will be replaced by a new generation of floating dock. The new hydraulic structure will become one of the largest facilities implemented by Sevmash in terms of displacement.
The floating dock will be equipped with a 15-ton gantry crane, digital shipboard communication systems and control systems for the dock's technical facilities. The length of the dock is divided into ten main watertight compartments and has continuous decks along the entire length of the hull. The maximum weight of the docked vessel is 23,500 tons. The crew of the non-self-propelled PD will be 76 people. With its help, Sevmash will ensure the reliability of transport operations for the transfer of orders under construction and under repair from boathouse No. 2 to the enterprise's water area. It is planned that the construction of the floating dock will be completed in 2026.
