Air Force (Air Force) The United States will receive upgraded F-15E Eagle fighters, which are manufactured by Boeing, with a new electronic warfare system (EW). The first such improved aircraft will enter service this summer.

This is reported by the American magazine Defense News, citing a representative of the US Air Force, Major J. Alli Stormer.

She said that as part of the modernization work underway at the enterprise in San Antonio (Texas), eight fighters are equipped with active-passive warning and survivability assurance (EPAWSS) systems manufactured by BAE Systems.

The new equipment will become part of the standard configuration of the F-15EX Eagle II aircraft, and is also installed on some F-15Es. With its help, fighters will be able to track threats, jam and deceive them in high-intensity combat conditions, provide radar warning, geolocation, situational awareness, and expand self-defense capabilities using sensors and other electronic means.

The US Air Force believes that such modernization will significantly increase the readiness of fighter aircraft for combat operations against such a strong enemy as China. They will allow you to resist the most modern means of air defense.

Earlier this month, a message appeared about the end of testing of this electronic warfare system for F-15 aircraft.
