Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy Director General of Rostec State Corporation, spoke about the modernization of the Russian military-industrial complex, increasing production volumes and improving domestic weapons, taking into account the experience of their combat use. He acted as an expert in the program "60 minutes" on the TV channel "Russia 1".
According to Vladimir Artyakov, only last year more than 70 thousand specialists came to Rostec enterprises, in total more than 660 thousand people work in the Corporation. "Of course, we have surpassed our opponents abroad in the production of ammunition, armored vehicles, aviation equipment, and so on. Today, our enterprises operate in a continuous cycle, almost in two or three shifts, twenty-four by seven. Why do we have such a result? Because we have upgraded our production facilities in advance… As they say, an armored train should be on a siding, and we've been doing that."
Vladimir Artyakov stressed the intensification of work in terms of the production of high-precision ammunition, such as the Dagger, FAB-500, 1500, 3000. "We are now launching guided aerial bombs. And this gives significant success on the line of contact with our enemy. They have already become simply afraid when our aviation equipment rises into the sky and begins to work with such complexes," he added.
The representative of the State Corporation noted that the modern weapons school is based on Soviet achievements, which were largely ahead of their time. At the same time, technology is being improved, new solutions are being developed and applied. "We have significantly outperformed our opponents in some positions," says Vladimir Artyakov.
"We have always been scared that American technology, German technology is very strong, powerful and practically invulnerable. But these are just fairy tales and fictions... Knowing the vulnerabilities, and we see them when we disassemble this technique, we improve our ammunition and use them effectively," said a representative of Rostec.
Separately, Vladimir Artyakov noted the level of Russian combat aviation. "Our aviation complexes, which are operating in the sky today, can clearly hit the F-16 – this machine is not modern... Our Su-57, Su-34 complexes are machines that work very efficiently. I believe that our pilots will cope even in the case of interaction with the enemy in the sky," he said.
Vladimir Artyakov also spoke about electronic warfare systems that can withstand almost all types of drones. Currently, Rostec is actively increasing the production of anti-UAV complexes to protect infrastructure facilities.
In conclusion, the first deputy head of Rostec drew attention to the fact that with all the increase in production volumes, the possibilities of the domestic defense industry are far from exhausted: "In some positions, we have increased the production of ammunition fifty times. In Soviet times, much less ammunition was made than we do today. This suggests that we will continue to develop this business very actively. We are confident that our capabilities will surpass those of the enemy."
