Military expert Koshkin: The Joker-10 UAV can hunt enemy drones
Head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, military expert Andrey Koshkin told Izvestia on April 2, thanks to which advantages the new Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Joker-10 can change the situation in the special operation zone in Ukraine.
"The line of Jokers is quite voluminous, but the last option today is the Joker—10 and its tactical and technical characteristics include the ability to carry 5 kg of payload, speed - up to 100 km/h. It also has such an important function as hibernating for a long time, in other words, its advantage is a hibernator, which allows you to wait for a command and stay motionless even in winter for up to a week, and it is impossible to determine anything. In the summer, the UAV can stay in this state for a month, then, after receiving a command from the pilot, continue the combat mission. Moreover, in this way, with the help of this drone, it is possible to organize an ambush on the enemy, adjust it in time, coordinate interaction and successfully launch drone attacks," Koshkin said.
In addition, the military expert explained that the Joker-10 has an electric detonator driver that allows it to work on non-extraction. In other words, these weapons will not fall into the hands of the enemy, as they self-destruct on a timer. If the enemy wants to study the drone, it will also self-destruct, the expert added.
"We have a very successful example of weapons, in my opinion, both at the request of military personnel and according to the evaluation characteristics of those engineers who provided its creation, training, testing and direct implementation in the troops. Thus, the modified Joker-10 is currently one of the best in the line of Jokers, and indeed drones, and their large combination can lead to serious changes at the front," Koshkin believes.
Yesterday, the WION TV channel reported that an updated version of the Russian drone "Joker-10" could play a key role in the conflict with Ukraine .
Earlier, on March 31, Dmitry Kuzyakin, head of the drone development company Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCDB), said that Russian FPV drones Joker-10 had been adapted to perform air defense tasks from Ukrainian drones. In particular, a new drone function was invented and implemented: FPV air defense and protection of the near air perimeter, said the Director General of the Central Research Bureau.
On March 29, it became known that the Joker FPV drones during a special operation forced a company of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to surrender. As Kuzyakin said, the Ukrainian military stood in the classic line of defense, and the Russian fighters launched FPV drones, which immediately "unwound" their second line of defense.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which the Russian president announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
