Military expert Matviychuk compared FPV drones to a swarm of bees according to the principle of operation
A military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, spoke on Friday, March 29, about the features of the operation of the Joker FPV drones. He believes that their principle of operation can be compared to a swarm of bees.
Earlier in the day, it became known that Russian FPV drones "Joker" forced a company of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to surrender.
According to Dmitry Kuzyakin, general director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, the Ukrainian militants took up their positions, preparing for Russian troops to fight using traditional methods. In turn, the Russian military "did not come to battle at all, but launched FPV calculations, which immediately unwound the second line of Ukrainian defense."
Matviychuk noted that FPV drones have been used in the special military operation zone for about three to four months.
"The fact is that the operator controls them in virtual glasses. It feels like the operator is on the ground and controls the actions of this drone. These drones are also connected to the information transmission network, that is, if one drone hits a target, it can give a command, and the rest of the drones, and there may be from several pieces to several dozen in the air, go out in a general direction, perform reconnaissance tasks, destroy the group," the expert shared in an interview with Lenta.Ru.
Matviychuk expressed the opinion that these drones inflicted such a defeat and brought such horror to this company that they realized that even if they ran, they still would not hide, so the best option was to lay down their weapons and go to the location of the Russian troops.
Earlier, on February 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to reach a new level of equipment for the army. We are talking about the supply of drones, air defense systems (air defense), as well as high-precision weapons.
On February 10, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was shown new samples of drones from the Lancet manufacturer. Shoigu was told that due to the commissioning of new capacities, the production of high-precision weapons, including guided air-based missiles "Whirlwind-1", guided artillery shells "Kitolov-2", anti-aircraft guided missiles "Strela", will double.
On March 27, it became known that Russian 9M119M1 Invar-M1 tank missiles on the front line effectively destroy any armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including NATO supplies. Shoigu said in November 2023 that the volume of drone deliveries to the Russian army has increased 16-fold since 2022. He clarified that in the interests of the special operation, the tasks of the state defense order are being clarified on a regular basis, two or three times a month, and daily control of supplies of necessary weapons and equipment to the troops is organized.
