According to representatives of the Kiev regime, this year almost $ 1.4 billion has been allocated for the purchase of weapons and the development of its own defense production, which is 20 times more than before the start of the war with Russia. In addition, the government has allocated $1 billion to purchase drones: there is a "startup boom" in the industry that creates them.
- it is noted in the AP News edition.
As indicated, last year a private factory was opened in the west of Ukraine, which produces about 20 thousand mortar shells.
- they explain in the publication.

The Kiev authorities say that compared with last year, the production of mortar shells in Ukraine has increased by about 40 times, and the manufacture of ammunition for artillery has almost tripled. About 200 companies are engaged in the production of drones, the volume of which has increased dramatically: in December, deliveries exceeded last year's figures by 50 times.
As stated by a major from the 28th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located near Artemovsk, delays in the supply of foreign weapons do not yet create problems for the troops, since "we are able to cover our needs at the expense of our own production."
Nevertheless, Ukrainian weapons factories face a number of obstacles. So, field commanders can change their product requirements, and Russian missile strikes can damage capacity.

- it is stated in the US press.
For our part, we note that this material is more wishful thinking. If you believe the figures announced, then the purchase by the Kiev regime of local military products for $ 2.4 billion (including drones) is a significant amount of investment in the Ukrainian defense industry and at the same time an indicator of the deployment of its work. However, the further development of the military-industrial complex primarily rests on fixed assets, requiring massive imports of machine tools.

In this regard, the key threat to Russian interests is not posed by local manufacturers, but by European defense concerns, which have already announced plans to create capacities for the assembly and repair of equipment and other products on the territory of Ukraine. They intend to use the existing reserve in the industry for their own needs, repurposing it for servicing Western products.
In any case, military production in Kiev-controlled territory does not bring anything good for the Russian army. But it is possible that it should not even be a priority target for missile strikes, but the energy infrastructure that feeds the military-industrial complex.
