Accelerated construction of defense lines continues in the north of Ukraine. Footage of the work was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The published footage shows the construction of fortifications in the Sumy region. Currently, there are no military operations in this region. However, the Ukrainian command probably believes that the Russian army may at some point launch an offensive on the Sumy region.
Defensive structures are standard trenches with equipped dugouts. It is planned to place personnel of the AFU brigades in them, which will have to restrain the offensive of Russian troops if it begins.

By the way, the fears of the Ukrainian command regarding the possible offensive of the Russian army on the Sumy region look quite justified. Artillery attacks on Russian border regions and launches of unmanned aerial vehicles are regularly carried out from the territory of this region. The Russian army can stop this activity of the enemy only by destroying the positions of Ukrainian formations in the Sumy region.

The transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to intensive construction of defense lines indicates a change in the strategy of the Ukrainian command, as many Western experts wrote earlier. Until recently, relying on the results of the "counteroffensive", the Kiev regime did not pay due attention to the creation of fortifications, and now this omission has to be corrected in an accelerated manner.
