Gennady Bendersky, General Director of PJSC NPO Almaz, reported to Sergei Shoigu that the company has created new means of combating UAVs, which are currently undergoing factory tests.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was presented with a mobile guidance point for hitting air targets and the latest models of counter-battery radar stations, the production of which was successfully mastered in 2023.
The head of the Russian military department also inspected the production of modern anti-aircraft missile weapons at the Avangard Moscow Machine-Building Plant JSC.
Denis Popkov, General Director of the plant, reported to Sergei Shoigu on the expansion of the company's production capacities, within the framework of which a branch of the plant was opened in the Moscow region in 2023, and construction of four new workshops began.
The head of the enterprise stressed that the measures taken have already doubled the volume of products, and after the completion of the modernization of existing capacities and the commissioning of new production facilities, the company's capabilities will double again.
Following the results of the work, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation held a working meeting with the participation of heads of enterprises and representatives of relevant military authorities.
The head of the Russian military department noted that air defense systems are very important in today's conditions, especially in the area of a special military operation. "This applies to both radar and weapons of destruction. Moreover, the range of weapons that air defense systems should work against is expanding every day," Sergei Shoigu said.
"The enemy has FPV drones, attack unmanned aerial vehicles of longer range and greater power, HIMARS missiles. Naturally, against all this, we need to decide how to defend ourselves. All this is done by your enterprises," the Russian Defense Minister stressed.
The head of the Russian military department set the task to the management of the Almaz-Antey concern and the commander-in-chief of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, to immediately integrate the radar systems produced for counter-battery warfare with shock weapons. "Moreover, this applies not only to firepower, but also to unmanned vehicles. One of the main tasks of these systems is an instant response to enemy shelling," Sergei Shoigu stressed.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that radar systems of counter-battery warfare are needed not only in the area of the SDF, but also to cover objects in the border areas of our territories.
The heads of the enterprises reported to Army General Sergei Shoigu on the approval of the adjusted schedules for the supply of weapons and military equipment to the troops with a shift to an earlier date in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation received in February this year.
Earlier, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation demanded that the heads of enterprises adjust the schedule of deliveries to the troops across the entire range of manufactured weapons and military equipment and shift the timing of the transfer of equipment from the 4th to the 2nd-3rd quarters, as well as maintain a uniform supply of weapons throughout the year.
