On February 20, 2024, the Swedish government announced that it would provide Ukraine with the 15th and largest military aid package so far, amounting to 7.1 billion Swedish kronor ($690 million). Taking into account this package, the total Swedish military assistance to Ukraine since February 2022 has reached more than 30 billion kronor ($2.89 billion). The greatest resonance was caused by the naval part of the new assistance package, estimated at 1.1 billion kronor (106 million dollars) and including the transfer to Ukraine of ten high-speed amphibious assault boats of the SV90 type (CombatBoat90 - Stridsbåt 90), 20 small boats of the Gruppbåtar type (G-båt) and "underwater weapons" (undervattensvapen), and It is explicitly stated that it means "mines and torpedoes" (minor och torpeder).

From the bmpd side, we point out that if the Swedish SV90 type amphibious assault boats (CombatBoat90) are widely known and, among other things, "cloned" in Russia in the form of Raptor and BK-16 / BK-18 type boats, then the Swedish small boats of the Gruppbåtar type (G-båt) were built for coastal forces The Swedish Navy by the Finnish company Oy Marine Alutech Ab in 1995-1999 in the amount of 100 units. Boats of this type are mainly used for coastal transfers of personnel and weapons. G-båt aluminum boats have an empty displacement of 2 tons and a full cargo displacement of 3 tons. The boat is 8 m long, 2.1 m wide, and has a draft of 0.3 m in total cargo. The boat is equipped with a 230 hp Volvo Penta TAMD 42 diesel engine and an FF-Jet 240 water cannon and develops a load speed of more than 30 knots. With a two-person crew, the boats can carry eight military personnel or up to 1 ton of cargo.
