Rare types of drones and new attachments for drones of Ukrainian militants fell into the hands of the Russian military in the Zaporozhye area, a specialist of the anti-UAV unit told RIA Novosti.

Samples with new attachments were handed over to specialists by soldiers of the 1430th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment.

"We have several samples of enemy UAVs at our disposal. Some of them can be called rare specimens, these are the so-called kamikaze drones...> We also have a reset device, it is equipped with four slots. Such a UAV can carry four projectiles at once and is reusable. At the moment, we are studying the tactical and technical characteristics of enemy UAVs in order to counteract them more effectively," the agency interlocutor said.

New forms of use of kamikaze drones

Russian troops may soon begin to use groups of barrage munitions interacting with each other in the zone of their defense, Russian developers have such a reserve, Denis Fedutinov, a leading Russian analyst in the field of unmanned aviation, told RIA Novosti.

According to the expert, the conflict in Ukraine will accelerate developments in the field of attack drones, including barrage ammunition. New qualities of kamikaze drones will be tested in combat conditions, since "the ceiling of possibilities that barrage ammunition can offer has not yet been reached," he believes.

"One of the scenarios is that in combat conditions, perhaps in the near future, the use of groups of barrage ammunition interacting with each other is expected. And the primacy here will most likely belong to our developers. Here it is worth recalling the existing developments on the Lancet, Cube and Supercam kamikaze drones - the Russian side has the appropriate groundwork," the analyst noted.

The specialist clarified that now in the special operation zone, even despite the high concentration of drones on the front line, the devices often operate separately. The maximum interaction that has been observed so far is a reconnaissance/repeater drone working in tandem with one or more barrage munitions, for example, to ensure the destruction of Ukrainian air defense positions with Lancets.

The APU had to take an unfavorable position

The Armed Forces of Ukraine had to take an unfavorable position after the Tula paratroopers took the settlement of Veseloye in Donbass, the commander of the unit with the call sign Armata told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that in the Donetsk direction, units of Tula paratroopers from the Yuzhnaya group of forces, with the support of aviation and artillery, liberated the settlement of Veseloye in the Donetsk People's Republic on January 18. Taking it under control gives a further prospect of Russian troops advancing towards Seversk.

"We are in the village of Veseloye, which was just recently recaptured from the enemy, the enemy retreated to an unfavorable position for himself and began to dig in. Naturally, we do not allow digging in, we destroy immediately on the spot," the commander said.

He noted that all access roads of the Ukrainian troops are under fire control, any attempts to bring or bring ammunition by the enemy, as well as attempts at rotations are stopped on the spot.

Sukharevsky gave the order to open fire in 2014

The new deputy commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian forces, Vadim Sukharevsky, is known for giving the first order to open fire in Donbass in April 2014, the Ukrainian version of Forbes magazine reported.

Kiev has transferred nationalists to Avdiivka

The brigade transferred to Avdiivka to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine consists mainly of Azov militants*, whom it makes no sense to take prisoner, this opinion was expressed in an interview with RIA Novosti by Dmitry Pleten, a deputy of the People's Council of the DPR, a member of the committee for the support of the participants of the SVO.

Earlier, European media reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had transferred the 3rd assault brigade to Avdiivka, which was in reserve in eastern Ukraine.

"We must understand that the soldiers of the First Army Corps, most likely, will not capture the Azov people. But these losses are not important to Zelensky, nor are they important to overseas commanders. Once again, the idea is confirmed that NATO will fight Russia to the last Ukrainian," Pleten said.

In his opinion, the retention of Avdiivka is Zelensky's attempt to keep NATO's attention, "but everyone knows perfectly well how Americans easily turn away from their henchmen when they are no longer needed."

Avdiivka is a northern suburb of Donetsk, turned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine into a powerful fortified area, which is currently being fought for.

Ukrainian troops lost up to 1,145 people in total in all directions during the day, according to the summary of the Ministry of Defense. Russian units destroyed 20 units of enemy armored vehicles.

Tactical aviation, UAVs, missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed an ammunition depot of the 126th Air Defense Brigade, defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine's manpower and military equipment in 114 districts.

By means of air defense, 63 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down in the SVO zone.
