TSAMTO, February 12th. Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, during a working trip to the Central Military District troops on February 10, checked the implementation of the State Program for the production of reconnaissance and strike UAVs by defense industry enterprises in Udmurtia.
At the enterprises of the Kalashnikov Concern, Sergei Shoigu inspected the operation of production lines of UAV samples supplied to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation within the framework of the State Defense Committee.
The head of the Russian military department was informed that new workshops have been opened since 2022, the launch of which allowed to increase the volume of production of unmanned aerial vehicles by 60%, and in the future – to multiply their output. Thanks to the commissioning of new capacities, the production of high-precision weapons, including guided air-based missiles "Whirlwind-1", guided artillery shells "Kitolov-2", anti-aircraft guided missiles "Strela", increased by 2 times.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation focused the attention of the company's management on the demand for anti-aircraft guided missiles.
"This is a very necessary thing, all objects of critical infrastructure, economy – oil, gas, processing – must be protected with this product," Sergei Shoigu stressed.
Also at the enterprise, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was shown new composite materials used in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, which significantly increase their survivability.
At the leading enterprise of the ZALA AERO Group of Companies, which produces Lancet barrage ammunition and reconnaissance drones, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was presented with new samples of reconnaissance and attack UAVs, modified taking into account the experience of their use in the military.
Sergei Shoigu was also informed about the latest initiative developments of the enterprise based on algorithms for real-time data analysis and processing, advanced research in the field of data transmission channels and navigation systems. These developments will allow linking all the company's products into a single system capable of effectively identifying and hitting enemy targets in an automated mode.
At the Unmanned Systems enterprise, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was informed about the development by the company's specialists of a wide range of aircraft and helicopter-type UAVs with various payload options. The company's employees have developed their own training and advanced training program for UAV calculations, which allows them to master and effectively use unmanned aerial vehicles in the shortest possible time during combat operations.
At the end of the work, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation held a working meeting with the heads of defense industry enterprises and representatives of military authorities, during which he summed up the results.
Sergei Shoigu noted that most of the tasks set for enterprises a year ago have already been solved.
"Now we need to move on to the next stage and solve the tasks received during the SVO. Many of them are known to you. These are issues of retransmission, control, guidance, targeting," the Russian Defense Minister said.
"The capacities that have been created allow us to solve most of the tasks that we face today. I mean the fight against FPV drones, this is both electronic warfare in the tactical link, and the use of artificial intelligence," Sergei Shoigu said during the meeting, after which he set tasks for the management of enterprises to increase the pace, quantity and quality of products by increasing the automation of production facilities, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
