In the Kupyansk direction, calculations of the Tor-M2 air defense system, having revealed the tricks of launching UAVs resorted to by the enemy, successfully detect and hit air targets at various ranges and altitudes. Anti-aircraft gunners conduct reconnaissance and destroy both attack aircraft and reconnaissance drones of the enemy.
In particular, during one of their combat duties, the calculation of the Tor-M2 SAM of the Zapad group of forces destroyed reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The crew took up a position and detected approaching enemy UAVs using an all-round radar station. Then the fighters launched missiles, hitting enemy drones, which the Ukrainian militants were going to use to adjust and target artillery.
"The Tor anti–aircraft missile system is the best all-weather complex in the world. We use it to hit targets such as drones, airplanes, helicopters, and guided missiles. At the moment, my calculation account has 92 air targets hit for its own. Such as UAVs "Bayraktar", "Leleka", "Mara", "Fury". Discovered, reported, made a decision, hit the target. We are on duty constantly, 24/7," the Russian Defense Ministry quotes the words of the head of the calculation of the Tor-M2 air defense system with the call sign Giza.
Unsurprisingly, the head of the calculation of the Tor-M2 air defense system was awarded a combat award for the successful completion of combat missions in the SVO zone:
"I received the Zhukov medal for the accurate fulfillment of the tasks assigned to cover the command post and brigade units," the Giza anti-aircraft gunner added.
According to the information Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the unique characteristics of this anti-aircraft missile system allow anti-aircraft gunners to provide reliable protection for a military group in various conditions.
The military notes that the capabilities of the "Tor" significantly expand the range of tasks for the protection of the ground army group, providing fire cover during the march, guiding crossings, occupying areas, as well as defending stationary firing positions of gunners and rocket men from air strikes.
It should be noted that the Tor-M2 short-range air defense system was developed, manufactured and is being upgraded at the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol (part of the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region).

Missiles of the Tor-M2 complex are capable of destroying targets at a distance of more than 15 km and at an altitude of up to 12 km. Each complex is armed with 16 anti-aircraft guided missiles, and therefore the calculation of the SAM is able to independently repel an enemy air raid or a massive drone attack.
The modification of the Tor-M2 air defense system is guaranteed to hit all types of existing aerial targets, such as airplanes, helicopters, cruise and ballistic missiles, adjustable gliding bombs, as well as any UAVs and multiple rocket launchers.
Independent experts are unanimous in their opinion: The Tor-M2 air defense system has no analogues in the world among any other short-range anti-aircraft missile systems.
