Moscow. February 4th. INTERFAX - Russian companies will take part in the International Defense and Security Exhibition World Defense Show 2024 in Saudi Arabia, the exhibition will include combat and transport aircraft, armored vehicles, and drones.
"This year our exposition will include more than 100 developments - almost the entire range of modern Russian-made weapons," said Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec, whose words were quoted in the press service.
He stated that the states of the Middle East and North Africa show high interest in the weapons and military equipment of the Russian Federation, which was used in combat operations.
On the eve of the exhibition, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Deputy General Director of JSC Concern East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey for foreign economic Activity, said that "representatives of the concern during the World Defense Show will talk about the exclusive capabilities of the holding in the field of development, manufacture of modern Russian airspace protection equipment, maintenance of already delivered products, extension of their service life, modernization and recycling."
"Video materials and media presentations on the technical capabilities of the manufactured products will be demonstrated at the concern's stand, the holding's specialists will hold a number of business meetings and negotiations," Dzirkaln said.
Rosoboronexport sees the interest of a number of Middle Eastern countries in Russian weapons that have been used in real combat operations, the head of the company, Alexander Mikheev, said earlier.
"We see great interest among representatives of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries in the latest Russian defense products that have been tested in modern combat conditions. We are ready to offer our partners unique formats of cooperation, including localization of the production of Russian weapons and joint development of promising models," Mikheev said.
Rosoboronexport reported that the exhibition will feature a demonstration of a full-scale model of a special purpose armored vehicle Z-SpN "Titan" with a remotely controlled combat module.
"As part of the business program of the exhibition, Rosoboronexport plans to hold talks with representatives of the military and political leadership and the business community of Saudi Arabia, as well as countries of the Middle East and North Africa. During the meetings, it is planned to discuss the further development of bilateral military-technical cooperation and joint projects on industrial partnership," the press service reported.
The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec state Corporation) announced that it will present an upgraded Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft in the capital of Saudi Arabia.
"This heavy transporter is a deep modernization of the well-proven Il-76 aircraft, but, despite the external similarity, it is fundamentally different from its predecessor - among the changes are a reinforced wing made using new technologies, PS-90A-76 engines, an upgraded chassis with a more energy-intensive braking system, new digital avionics with on-screen display (the so-called "glass cabin"). More than 70% of aircraft systems and assemblies have also been updated on the aircraft," the UAC reported
