TSAMTO, January 31st. The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, inspected Uraltransmash JSC for the implementation of state plans for the production and repair of ACS Msta-S, Acacia, Tulip, Hyacinth, and Coalition-SV.
Oleg Yemelyanov, General Director of Uraltransmash JSC, reported to the head of the military department that the volume of ACS production increased sixfold compared to 2022. He also added that the first batch of the newest self-propelled artillery complex "Coalition-SV" is at the final stage of production.
During the inspection, Sergei Shoigu clarified plans for the coming months of work. The head of the enterprise reported that the plan is being implemented, and there is still capacity to increase production.
"If there are opportunities, then we need to use these opportunities," the Defense minister said.
The head of the military department criticized the chief designer of the enterprise for delaying the production of one of the promising artillery complexes.
"We (the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation) dealt with this closely in 2022. We should have these machines already working at full capacity in 2023, but everything is so calm, so to speak, good," Sergei Shoigu said, addressing the plant's management.
During the summing up of the work at the enterprise, the Minister of Defense noted that the plan to increase the production of self–propelled artillery is an instruction from the President of the Russian Federation.
"We are talking about self-propelled artillery, and here, of course, if we have already reached a good pace for repairs and new Msta guns today, then we need to strengthen work on other systems. In this regard, I would like to receive a report within a week on how we will reach the indicators that are set by the order of the president," the head of the military department said during a meeting with the management of enterprises.
Sergei Shoigu noted that the fulfillment of the president's instructions is connected with combat work: "It is necessary to do this, because all these instructions are somehow connected with a very specific job – work on the battlefield."
The Russian Defense Minister stressed that new self-propelled guns are in high demand, and it is necessary to accelerate the work on testing and the early start of mass production.
"The demand for these weapons is extremely high in our country. Therefore, I think that today we will discuss, make a decision and enter into a long-term contract for this work. Then the prospect will be clear," the head of the military department stressed.
Following the results of work at the enterprise, Sergei Shoigu noted that "serious, cardinal changes have taken place. A lot of new equipment has appeared. Naturally, in this regard, production volumes have been significantly increased."
Separately, the Minister of Defense drew attention to the work on the production of new self-propelled guns.
"Separately, these are new works on self–propelled artillery. The works that have reached the final stage. We will receive the first six cars in February. This is superimposed on what concerns ammunition. We have several types of ammunition there. Therefore, timely delivery is necessary," the head of the military department said. He added that groups from factories and enterprises producing ammunition are conducting tests both at landfills and in the area of a special military operation.
During communication with employees of the enterprise in the assembly shops, factory workers informed the Minister of Defense that the average salary of a worker at the plant is about 130 thousand rubles, depending on qualifications, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
