Russian Helicopters Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation has sent another batch of Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to operators as part of the execution of the contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLC). 15 helicopters of the Kazan Helicopter Plant went to the regions of Russia. In total, the contractual obligations involve the supply of 86 Mi-8 helicopters in the interests of various airlines.

The Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters, delivered under the current contract with GTLK, are equipped with additional outboard fuel tanks to increase the flight range. There are 22 seats in the cabins. The modification was carried out for the installation of a side boom with a rescue winch with a lifting capacity of 300 kg.

"The supply of modern helicopters to domestic airlines is a guarantee that passenger and cargo transportation will be carried out even in the most remote corners of our country. Most of these machines are intended for use in the northern regions of Russia. For hard–to-reach areas, helicopters are sometimes the only means for urgent delivery of patients or injured to a medical facility. Therefore, there are places for the installation of medical modules in the cabin of each Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter. In total, 86 Mi-8 helicopters will be delivered under the contract with GTLK," said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.

Russian regional airlines are among the operators. Most of the helicopters will be used in difficult climatic conditions in the regions of Siberia, the Far East and the Far North.

One of the Mi-8MTV-1s was sent to Krasavia Airlines – this is the sixth helicopter transferred to the Krasnoyarsk operator within the framework of cooperation with GTLK. The car will be used in remote areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory to transport passengers and cargo, including vital food and medicines.

The Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter went to the disposal of the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise, to the Yelizovo airport. This is the third helicopter produced by KVZ, leased from GTLK. The airline uses Mi-8 series helicopters to transport mail and cargo, performs sanitary tasks, is on duty for search and rescue support, takes part in extinguishing fires, and also performs tourist flights to the Valley of Geysers, Kronotsky Reserve and Kuril Lake.

The new Mi-8MTV-1 and the air fleet of ChukotAVIA Airlines have been replenished. Mi-8 helicopters provide transport links between national villages and regional centers, perform air transportation and aviation work from such airports in Chukotka as Anadyr, Pevek, Kepervey, Lavrentia, Providenia, Kresta Bay. In the absence of highways, the use of helicopters increases the mobility of the inhabitants of the peninsula.

The batch of Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters was received by the airline "Helix Aero". The aircraft were purchased for servicing oil and gas complex enterprises and search and rescue support. The company, established in 2022, is steadily expanding the range of services performed. The increase in the helicopter fleet contributes to its further strengthening in the aircraft market.

Kazan Aviation Enterprise also received a new Mi-8MTV-1, which will be involved in charter passenger transportation, sightseeing flights, as well as various types of aviation work.

The fleet of helicopters of the Tver Converse Avia airline has also been replenished. It performs the main volumes of air transportation and aviation work in the interests of the largest oil and gas producing enterprises in Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as in the Khabarovsk Territory. This is the eighth helicopter received by Converse Avia under GTLK leasing programs.

The Mi-8MTV-1 multi-purpose helicopters have unique flight and operational characteristics. They can be used in almost any climatic conditions, in a wide temperature range (from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius). The design and equipment of helicopters make it possible to perform flights with autonomous basing on unequipped sites.
