Ministry of Industry and Trade: the volume of production of aircraft drones will be more than 11.5 thousand.
On January 6, the secretariat of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov announced that the volume of production of aircraft drones in 2024 would amount to more than 11.5 thousand.
It is noted that in 2023, the production of UAS drones may amount to about 6 thousand units, but the final data for the year are not yet available. In 2024, this figure may reach almost 11.7 thousand units.
"These are the volumes that affect UAS with a take-off weight of 1 kg and above. We assume that domestic producers have all the possibilities to achieve these indicators," the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of TASS quotes.
The State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) will become a consolidator of federal demand for UAS, which also plans to launch Russia's first drone marketplace and is developing its own drone operator, which was created in 2022 jointly with the NTI Foundation, Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
At the same time, it is planned that the volume of financing of the national project at the expense of budgetary funds until 2030 will amount to almost 700 billion rubles. In 2024, financing is planned in the amount of 46.4 billion rubles, 117 billion rubles in 2025 and 149 billion rubles each in 2025 and 2026.
As indicated in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the national project "Unmanned aircraft systems" has been finalized and will be published in January. According to the project, by 2030 it is planned to produce more than 32 thousand aircraft drones, which is almost three times higher than current production volumes. According to the secretariat, the share of Russian UAS will be 70% of the market.
Earlier, on December 5, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Russia doubled in 2023, and armored weapons tripled.
On December 1, Izvestia sources in the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Industry reported that serial production of ammunition for FPV drones began in Russia in the fall. The peculiarity of the FPV drone is that the operator controls such a device while wearing virtual reality glasses. This allows, with proper skill, to deliver a drone with a warhead precisely to the target, for example, into the door of a dugout or a vulnerable projection of an armored vehicle.
On November 27, a UAV called "Wind" was launched into mass production in Russia. It is a small short-range quadcopter-type drone. The device weighs 1.8 kg and can lift up to 1 kg into the air. The drone is controlled via a special radio channel, protected from interference.
On the same day, the head of KMZ holding, Mikhail Danilenko, said that serial production of the first Russian naval drones for the Russian Defense Ministry is scheduled to begin in 2024.
On November 23, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev announced the importance of mass production of inexpensive drones for his country. Medvedev noted that previously there was no mass production in Russia, so now it needs to be adjusted, and in a short time.
On November 21, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that the volume of drone deliveries to the Russian army increased 16 times compared to the beginning of 2022. He stressed that in the interests of the special operation, the tasks of the state defense order are being clarified on a regular basis, 2-3 times a month, and daily control of supplies of necessary weapons and equipment to the troops is organized.
