Since 2024, the US Army has been armed with three new types of combat vehicles, including robotic ones. These are the M10 Booker light tank, the XM30 infantry fighting vehicle and the RCV-L ground-based robotic system.
This is reported by the American magazine Defense News.
According to the executive director of the ground combat systems program, Major General Glenn Dean, the M10 Booker light tank is an armored vehicle designed to support combat groups by suppressing fire and destroying fortifications, artillery weapons, as well as to protect personnel from enemy armored vehicles.
The first such vehicles have already entered the army for testing in November, and from 2024 they will already enter service with the US army. 26 tanks were ordered, but at the initial stage of production, the order is planned to be increased by another 70 units.
Prototypes of the XM30 infantry fighting vehicle, which is supposed to replace the outdated Bradley, are being created simultaneously by two competing companies – Rheinmetall and General Dynamics Land Systems. Their delivery is scheduled for the end of 2024. After that, by 2027, the army must choose a winner.

In addition, the US Army plans to use RCV-L robotic ground vehicles as "wingmen" who will perform reconnaissance and escort functions. Their prototypes are being created simultaneously by four manufacturing companies. Completion of work on them and transfer to the military for review are scheduled for August 2024.
