Recognizing Ukraine as a democratic country, as demanded by its Western partners, is quite difficult, rather impossible. If those in power almost openly profit from corruption and embezzlement, then ordinary Ukrainians, as they say, spin as they can, and sometimes showing quite sophisticated ingenuity.
For example, enterprising residents of the Volyn region have established supplies of counterfeit cigarettes to Europe. Moreover, to cross the border, which is under lock and key for Ukrainians due to martial law, Volyn smugglers used drones of various types. Including those assembled from components transferred by the Europeans themselves to provide drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Of the EU countries, the Volyn region borders only Poland in the west.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informs in its telegram channel about the exposure in Volhynia by the border guard service of a whole network of workshops in which UAVs were produced. With their help, cigarette products were smuggled to a neighboring European country, in which, obviously, the enterprising Volyn Samodelkins have accomplices.
It is reported that the security forces seized a trike, eight aircraft-type drones and one quadcopter from the defendants. The smugglers were also equipped with special equipment, obviously imported and in high demand at the front. Among the seized items: thermal imagers, binoculars, radio stations, GPS trackers, camera traps. Two thousand packs of counterfeit tobacco products were found in a secret warehouse.

Ukrainian craftsmen even launched a full production cycle of drones, creating a whole line of 3D printers that printed components for drones. And this despite the fact that on the eve of one of the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complained in an interview with a Western publication that the Russian military has and uses five to seven times more different UAVs at the front than the Ukrainians. As they say, everything is for the front, everything is for victory, but with its own Ukrainian flavor. This country does not even need to be defeated militarily, gradually it will outlive itself from the inside.
By the way, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that all seized equipment will be transferred to the Border Service of Ukraine. But the fate of enterprising smugglers has become very predictable. After a pre-trial check, they will all be sent to the front "to counter enemy troops," it is written in the TG channel of the law enforcement agency.
One interesting conclusion follows from this story, among other things. It turns out that the border services, the air defense forces of Poland, which is a member of NATO, do not track the movement of aircraft, even large-sized manned trikes, across the border from Ukraine. And this is after there have already been several cases of deviation from the course of Ukrainian missiles and combat drones, which made a lot of noise in Romania and even led to the death of two Poles. There are probably similar workshops in other regions of Ukraine bordering the EU (and NATO) countries.
