More recently, the Ukrainian BMP-1TS, which appeared on the network with the latest Spear combat module, became the "star" of the next video. However, this time the car appeared not in a propaganda video from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but in footage shot by a Russian kamikaze drone VT-40, which successfully "rammed" it.
Recall that the modern combat module for the Soviet BMP-1 was developed by Ukrainian engineers back in 2014. At the same time, this car was shown for the first time only in 2021 at the parade in Kiev.
Today, according to the data published by the foreign press, it is in service with the 5th Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The single-seat combat module is equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon, a Barrier ATGM with R-2 laser-guided missiles, a KBA-117 automatic grenade launcher and a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.
Despite the fact that the footage from the FPV drone of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is very blurred, the elements and the form factor of the "Spear" are quite clearly recognized on them.

It is worth noting that according to some reports, after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine could have about two hundred old BMP-1s left. It is unknown how many of them have been upgraded and equipped with a new combat module. After all, the machines have been in storage for a long time, their technical suitability remains a big question.
