TSAMTO, November 29. On November 29, a solemn ceremony was held at Sevmash (part of USC) for the withdrawal of the Yasen-M project multipurpose SUBMARINE Arkhangelsk from the boathouse. The event was held under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
The ceremony was the result of the completion of the slipway period of construction of the 3rd serial ship of the modernized project, which is the nuclear submarine "Arkhangelsk".
The solemn ceremony was attended by the leadership of the Arkhangelsk region, municipalities "Arkhangelsk" and "Severodvinsk", general directors of the enterprises of USC – JSC "PO "Sevmash" Mikhail Budnichenko, SPMBM "Malakhit" Vladimir Dorofeev, the leadership of USC, representatives of government, industry and the Navy.
The participants of the event emphasized the significance of the event – an important stage of the construction of a modern ship of the 4th generation of the Yasen-M project has been completed. The submarines of this series, designed by SPMBM "Malachite", are the embodiment of the unique latest Russian developments in the field of military weapons, naval weapons, technical and electronic complexes, main power plants. The project uses advanced technical solutions. "The armament complexes of these ships are significantly superior to their foreign counterparts in a number of their characteristics," N. Evmenov noted.
"It is very symbolic that this ship was named after the city of military glory Arkhangelsk, whose population made a great contribution to the development of the navy, the development of the northern regions of Russia," N.Evmenov said.
"The Main Command of the Russian Navy will continue to pay priority attention to the development of the nuclear submarine component of the Submarine Forces, which are the basis for guaranteed state security in maritime and oceanic areas. The construction of multi–purpose and strategic nuclear submarines is a priority in our joint work with the industry," N. Evmenov stressed.
The changes and technical solutions introduced into the Yasen-M project relate to the element base of radio-technical armament complexes, upgraded equipment and materials produced by Russian cooperative enterprises. More than 400 companies and organizations from all over Russia are involved in the construction of the submarine. Sevmash CEO Mikhail Budnichenko thanked the employees of the USC–Sevmash enterprises and the St. Petersburg Malachite Design Bureau, as well as the military and representatives of counterparty organizations for the work done.
"In the coming days, the Arkhangelsk will be transferred from the filling pool to the embankment, and we will proceed with its further completion and testing. Multipurpose nuclear submarines of the 4th generation have already proved their combat capability and high technical characteristics. 3 multipurpose ships built on Sevmash are serving on the maritime borders of Russia," Mikhail Budnichenko, Sevmash's General director, stressed.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Nikolay Evmenov noted the contribution of employees of the Severodvinsk shipyard and SPMBM "Malachite" to the formation of a new look of the nuclear submarine fleet of Russia: "Sevmash is a unique industrial enterprise with a powerful technical and scientific potential, highly qualified engineering and technical personnel and main production workers with decent experience in the construction of one of the most complex systems in the world. "I am confident that the shipbuilders of Sevmash will continue to build ships with the same quality and on time, multiplying the power of the Navy," said the Commander-in–chief of the Navy.
During the ceremony, the Commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, gave permission for the ship to start moving from the boathouse. The commander of the Arkhangelsk submarine, Captain 1st rank Alexander Gladkov, traditionally broke a bottle of champagne on the body of the missile carrier. After completion at the Sevmash embankment, the tests of the cruiser will be provided by the crew of the ship, the delivery team, the Military Representation 1059, the White Sea Naval Base, the press service of JSC "PO "Sevmash" reports.
By this time, the Russian Navy already has three multipurpose submarines of the Yasen project in combat: Severodvinsk (cipher 885), Kazan (cipher 885M) and Novosibirsk (cipher 885M). All of them are armed with Onyx and Kalibr missiles. In the near future, the submarines of this project will be armed with hypersonic "Zircons".
