Another propaganda video about the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently spread in the Ukrainian segment of the network. It is worth noting that such videos are posted quite often. Meanwhile, in this case, attention was drawn to the weapons that are at the disposal of the Ukrainian military.
The footage "lit up" a Soviet BMP-1 with a Spear combat module installed on it, which the Kiev research and production company Techimpex has been working on since 2014. For the first time, the upgraded BMP-1TS was shown at a parade in Kiev in 2021.
Now this combat vehicle is used by the APU in the SVO zone. Earlier it was reported that the upgraded BMP-1 is available to the fifth assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Regarding the capabilities of the new combat module, it is known that the Spear received a 30-mm automatic cannon, a 30-mm automatic grenade launcher KBA-117 and a Barrier ATGM with laser-guided R-2 missiles developed by Ukrainian arms companies.
As an auxiliary weapon, the already familiar 7.62 mm PKT is installed on the "Spear".
According to data from open sources, the booking of a single combat module is designed to protect against armor-piercing bullets of 7.62 mm caliber.
It is unknown how many of these upgraded vehicles are currently in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2019, it was reported that the Ukrainian army had about 200 BMP-1s left. At the same time, the question of the technical condition of these machines remains open.
