In Russia, they will build a "flying saucer"
The plans of the Russian company Aerosmena, also known in the market as AIDBA, include the launch next year of a huge transport airship that can carry up to 600 tons of cargo and will have a rather unusual form of a "flying saucer" for such devices.
This airship will be designed to work in almost any place, even in the absence of infrastructure on earth by hovering over the terrain and perform loading and unloading using a special pulley system. That is, it will not need ports, airports, highways, or any runways. According to Sergey Bendin, the head of Aerosmena, cargo transportation using an airship developed by the company's engineers will have a convenient door-to-door scheme, which will allow contractors to significantly reduce logistics costs and warehouse space. Moreover, the cost of cargo delivery by airship will be an order of magnitude less than when chartering transport aircraft.

Regarding the design in the form of a "flying saucer", Aerosmena noted that it makes it possible to seriously facilitate maneuvering and landing in crosswinds, while traditional cigar-shaped devices experience considerable difficulties in this regard. In addition, such an efficient form is easier to carry out transportation in areas that are difficult to reach for conventional aircraft.

Initially, Aerosmena will build a 60-ton airship, on which the necessary tests and evaluation of flight parameters will be carried out, after which it will be the turn of 200- and 600-ton vehicles capable of operating at distances up to 8000 km at speeds up to 250 km / h. At the same time, the 600-ton model will receive eight helicopter engines for lifting the payload, and for its takeoff and flight, helium in the amount of about 620,000 m3 will be required.
